About the Role
The French Studies program within the School of Languages and Linguistics seeks to appoint a Senior Tutor with the capacity to teach into multiple areas of the French Studies program.
The French Studies Program within the School of Languages and Linguistics teaches a broad suite of undergraduate and graduate courses, maintains a vigorous research higher degree culture, and has an internationally recognised research profile. It contributes to interdisciplinary teaching within the School, the Faculty of Arts and the wider University.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Support subject coordinators in the successful delivery of teaching to a high standard
  • Prepare and conduct tutorials, seminars and where appropriate, lectures
  • Prepare, administer and mark assessment in accordance with subject guidelines in the University Handbook
Who We Are Looking For
You will demonstrate a deep understanding of diverse student needs, fostering inclusivity. You will bring excellent organizational skills to ensure successful task management and timely delivery, aligning with policies and procedures for effective teaching and student support.
You will also have:
  • A completed Honours or Master's Degree or PhD in a relevant discipline, with a demonstrated specialisation in French Studies
  • Native or near-native competence in French and English
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in the teaching of the French language from A1 to C1, as well as French and Francophone culture
  • Demonstrated track record of effective teaching and learning practices and a proven ability to develop educational resources

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
