Senior Water Engineer

The Role
In this role, you will be a key player in providing technical expertise for projects and operations, focusing on surface water and water systems infrastructure. Based in Perth, with opportunities for site work, you will have the chance to develop professionally in various facets of the resource sector
Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for project delivery, operations, and mine planning related to surface water and water systems infrastructure
• Increase awareness of flood risk and surface water management among stakeholders and coordinate wet season preparedness activities
• Conduct technical analysis to support new mining studies, including hydrology and hydraulic modelling
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives at various stages of development
• Prepare materials for stakeholder consultation and attend sites for investigations and monitory programs
• Maintain collaborative relationships and contribute to knowledge building within the team

Key Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in flood modelling software and GIS tools (TUFLOW and RORB)
• Strong report writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Understanding of catchment hydrology, river hydraulics, flood modelling
• Valid Western Australia Drivers Licence
• Familiarity with surface water management approvals in WA
• Experience in executing surface water monitoring programs and field investigations
• Understanding of water infrastructure systems, pipes and pump design is beneficial
