About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) has a new role within our Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (HOPE) team as a Senior Wellbeing Officer, who will be responsible for assisting the Manager and Team Leader in leading and coordinating a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the HOPE program.

The HOPE Program provides mental health treatment services to people aged 16+ years old who have been referred following a suicide attempt or are presenting with acute suicidal ideation.  The team aims to provide evidence based individual biological, psychological and social interventions centred on a persons expressed needs and goals for a period of up to 3 months.

A proportion of the work of the HOPE Program will occur outside of usual business hours, which may include weekends. Shifts will be rostered at least 1 month in advance.

This is a permanent full time (80 hours per fortnight) position with a monthly ADO.

  • Salary Range: $76,284.00 - $81,520.40 pro rata , plus superannuation

This position is eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV) up to $10,000.

What you bring

  • Relevant experience in similar leadership roles along with an appropriate qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience in coordination and supervision of staff.
  • Recent experience working under professional and clinical supervision with individuals in crisis, with mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to care of consumers and their families in the least restrictive and intrusive manner, respecting rights, privacy and dignity.
  • An understanding of recovery oriented practices and trauma informed care in relation to the role.
  • Ability to show initiative and proven capacity to work both autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer skills.
  • Current Victorian driver's licence is required.
