Service and Aftersales Technician

Location: Western Sydney, Australia (Interstate travel)

Role Overview: Our client is seeking a self-motivated Field/In-house Service and Aftersales Technician to ensure exceptional customer service experiences. The successful candidate will drive service success, enhance customer satisfaction, maximize retention, and increase profitability. This role involves regular travel across Australia for servicing existing customers and commissioning new systems, with flexibility and readiness for interstate travel and occasional overnight stays. The Technician will be responsible for service, repair, commissioning, and technical support for all product ranges both in-house and on-site as needed. Some sales tasks will also be required for certain product lines while in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-house and on-site servicing.
  • Perform field commissioning after full training.
  • Carry out warranty repairs.
  • Inspect and test all new instruments.
  • Calibrate detector services.
  • Program controllers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers to ensure the latest software versions and interface tools are utilized.
  • Maintain and safeguard workshop tools.
  • Order workshop miscellaneous parts.
  • Provide technical support to customers on products and systems as needed.
  • Maintain CRM with service-related contracts.
  • Maintain daily communication.
  • Collaborate with internal support personnel to accurately price and quote service visits.

Requirements:

  • Trade, diploma, or degree qualification in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Proven Field Service experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • NSW Electrical Worker's license highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver efficient and reliable service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
