THE OPPORTUNITY
The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) is passionate about improving the health and lives of the North Queensland community and strives to be a leader in health care, research and education for the region. As the largest tertiary provider of health services Townsville HHS is one of the region’s largest employers and a key part of the community.
The Service Group Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the operations of a clinical Service Group within the Townsville HHS.
THE ROLE
The role represents a single point of accountability for achieving all outcomes expected of the clinical Service Group to ensure that it contributes to the achievement of the Townsville HHS vision and objectives and the Service Agreement with the Department of Health.
The Service Group Director is a key member of the Senior Management Team and works in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Directors and other Service Group Directors to support the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable care within the Townsville HHS.
THE CANDIDATE
As the successful candidate you would bring strong leadership and business management experience to the role and will possess a strong understanding of the delivery of Mental Health services. You will be a collaborative and effective leader with highly honed communication skills who leads by example.
You will have a commitment to high quality, evidence-based practice and ongoing development and learning. You will be dedicated to providing a safe and effective Mental Health service. You will thrive with diversity and the ability to have an impact on the community of Townsville. A relevant qualification is required.
