We are currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals qualified in the areas of Japanese Studies, German Studies and French and Francophone Studies to join our Languages and Cultures Casual Academic staff pool. THE ROLE
The Discipline of Languages and Cultures, within The Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language, and Literature, offers various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Successful candidates may be involved in marking, tutoring, and, for more experienced academics, lecturing and other academic activities in the following areas:
- Japanese Studies
- French and Francophone Studies
- German Studies

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Completed Master's Degree or PhD in Languages and Cultures, or a closely related discipline or extensive industry experience.
- An understanding and appreciation of scholarly teaching.
- High level of oral and written communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with students, staff and the community.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Japanese Studies: Capacity to teach undergraduate coursework on Japanese media, literature, society and history in addition to Japanese language classes.
- German, French and Francophone Studies: Experience teaching society, culture, literature, and/or history in addition to language classes.
