About this opportunity

Benmax are looking for a motivated, experienced, and reliable Sheet Metal Worker/ Pipe Insulator/ Lagger to join a busy, friendly, and professional team.

The role is full time Monday to Friday, with a monthly RDO, all applicable allowances, and the opportunity for overtime as required.

Our team is based in Queanbeyan, and you will be working on sites around the Canberra and Queanbeyan region.

In this position, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide Sheet Metal and pipe insulation fabrication and installation services on site projects in the local area.
  • Perform work safely as per schedule of works, quality and specification and drawing/plan requirements.
  • Liaise in a professional manner with site employees, subcontractors, suppliers, other project participants and clients.
  • Ensure records, documentation and reports are completed as requested.
  • Resolve worksite issues quickly and effectively to keep work on track.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, including using and maintaining equipment correctly.

About you

To be successful in the position, you will have the following:

  • MUST be an Australian Citizen (essential).
  • Competent and experienced in HVAC ducting, welding, reading technical drawings.
  • Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication) / Air-conditioning & Refrigeration / Plumbing / or equivalent (essential)
  • Basic understanding of Sheet Metal and pipe cladding/ insulation. Training can be provided.
  • Current First Aid certificate (desirable).
  • Current and unrestricted Australian Drivers’ Licence.
  • OH&S General Induction (White card).
  • Understanding of work health and safety risk management and hazard identification.
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
  • Professional attitude and excellent attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest and passion for working as part of a small, professional team.
