Shift Engineer or Handyperson

Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is a 315 room 5 star Hotel located in Mascot near the Sydney domestic airport and home to the biggest conference centre at the airport. The Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Shift Engineer or Handyperson to join the maintenance team, reporting to the Chief Engineer. This role requires you to maintain the building, plant & equipment, fixtures and fittings throughout the Hotel to the required standard. You will ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees.  

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Respond to a range of guest request as a first priority
• Investigate and action jobs assigned by your supervisor in a timely manner
• Complete tasks as part of the preventative maintenance program
• Perform duties relevant to experience and trade and also perform other maintenance related tasks as required
• Undertake general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance programs throughout the hotel including basic plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning service and repairs
• Encourage the effective use of energy and water resources
• Service plant and general equipment as directed

The successful applicant will have:

• A technical background and experience as a Handyperson or Engineer
• Excellent customer service skills
• Availability to work weekends and shift work
• Hold a current drivers license
• Experience in Maintenance
• Basic computer skills
• A proven track record as a team player

This role requires rostered shifts. We provide and maintain uniform which must be worn for duty shifts.
