Shift SupervisorFitness Centre

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a confident, reliable, and passionate Shift Supervisor to join our Fitness Centre at the UQ St Lucia Campus. This full time 35 hours per week role involves ensuring the smooth daily operation of our facilities. Your exceptional leadership, customer service, and organisational skills will be key to supervise the Fitness Centre effectively.

Roster for this position is as follows: 
Tuesday – Friday: 12:30pm-8:30pm
Saturday: 9am-2pm

In this role you will:
  • Oversee the delivery of services at the Fitness Centre, acting as a point of contact for customers and staff
  • Respond to customer queries and resolve complaints efficiently
  • Provide leadership by coordinating and delegating tasks to staff
  • Assist with a variety of customer enquiries and administrative tasks, including membership processing and payment handling
  • Monitor facility usage and ensure compliance with safety standards, identify hazards, and manage incidents
  • Administer first aid as needed and liaise with emergency and security authorities
  • Maintain a tidy and professional environment and execute various cleaning tasks
  • Promote a positive profile for UQ Sport in the wider community
To be successful in the role you will have:
  • First Aid and CPR certificate
  • At least 12 months’ experience in a retail or customer service environment
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and lead a team
  • Proven cash handling experience and familiarity with Point of Sale systems
  • Commitment to customer service excellence
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactivity
