The Role
In this full-time role as Shift Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of The Shellharbour Club, whereby you will manage staff effectively, provide excellent customer service and ensure compliance with all regulations.  Overseeing aspects of the club's operations including food, bar, gaming and events, you will be the go-to person for any operational matter that arises during your shift.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and supervising staff members during their shift. This includes ensuring that all staff members are performing their duties efficiently, providing training when necessary, and addressing any performance issues.
  • Ensuring that customers are satisfied with the service provided by the club. Set the standard for the team members to look up too, address any customer complaints or concerns to maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Being compliant with all laws and regulations, including liquor licensing laws, health and safety regulations and responsible gambling laws.
  • Overseeing all cash handling procedures during your shift. 
  • Manage conflict effectively, including resolving conflicts between staff members or customers and managing difficult situations.
  • Prepare and submit reports on a daily basis in relation to trade and operational matters.  

A large part of this role also includes completing Relief Shift Manager duties when the Shift Managers are on leave. The Shift Manager is responsible for running the daily operations of the venue.  On-the-job training and compliance training is provided to assist you in becoming a high-performing Shift Supervisor and Relief Shift Manager.

To ensure success in this role, you will have, or be able to demonstrate:

  • Current and valid RSA and RCG competency card;
  • Prior supervisory experience within Club/Hospitality Industry;
  • Exceptional customer service skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong written communication and report writing skills;
  • Strong problem solving, time management and cash management skills;
  • Sound Computer literacy; and
  • Able to work during peak trading times and all key operational days.
