About the Role

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supported Independent Living (SIL) Manager to be appointed to our team. The SIL manager will lead a team of House Coordinators and support workers in the day-to-day care and support of our participants. They will be responsible for a maximum of 8 SIL houses across the Darwin CBD.

The SIL manager reports directly to the director of operations and responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery. 

As the SIL House Coordinator your duties will include:

  • Work with and assist the leadership Team in managing the SIL houses and support workers
  • Coordinate, train, mentor, and supervise House Coordinators and support workers
  • Coordinate and oversee the supervision of the relevant SIL houses
  • Oversee daily reporting by employees, completion of required reports, hosting briefing sessions and team meetings and running of the SIL house
  • Manage and resolve SIL house challenges through innovative problem solving
  • Building sustainable relationships with support workers and participants to increase engagement, utilisation and retention rates
  • Producing documents from CTARS and Microsoft Office
  • Rostering and knowledge of the Deputy system
  • Understand restrictive practices, reporting and legal requirements as per the NDIS Quality and safeguards commission.
  • On Call 1 week every 3 weeks (On Call payments are additional to your salary)

The Successful Applicant will have:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in similar role is highly regarded
  • Experience supervising support workers and managing people.
  • Resilient mindset and ability to channel stressful situations to a positive outcome
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, independently and proactively
  • Very good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional time management and ability to handle competing workloads
  • Be able to pick up processes and procedures in an efficient manner
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations, First Aid and CPR and current National Police Check
