Mortons Urban Solutions (MUS) is a Consulting Engineering Company specializing mainly in the Design and Supervision of Subdivisions in South East Queensland and Northern NSW. This involves varying degrees of Project Co-ordination.
Mortons Urban Solutions is looking to appoint a civil project coordinator to assist with an increasing work. You will have a knowledge of subdivision construction and are familiar with contract administration to fulfill a role in the supervision of Contractors on our Subdivisional Projects.
We have a supporting framework of Project Engineers who assist in design, carry out tender preparation and assessment and project co-ordination with Client representatives.
IMMEDIATE ROLE
There is an immediate need for inspection and contract administration on residential construction projects within Northern NSW and SEQ.
DUTIES
- Inspection of contractors in the construction of earthworks, pipe laying, culverts and pavements together with ancillary subdivision works.
- Receive and assess contractors’ monthly claim for payment and report on this to the Project Engineer.
- Receive and assess claims from contractors for variations and report on these to the Project Engineer.
- Monitor and record the use of Provisional Items by the Contractor.
- Monitor construction progress relative to programme bench marks and report any potential shortcomings.
- Attend project meetings and review meeting notes for accuracy.
- Advise Project Engineer of potential short comings in the Contractor’s performance.
- Arrange, inspect and record measurement of required materials and construction (eg compaction, gravel tests, pipe pressure tests, concrete tests, reinforcement inspections etc)
- Where required arrange Council and Statutory personnel to attend construction at designated hold points.
- Be aware of Council and statutory standards of construction and ensure that the Contractor is conforming to these.
- Understand the project’s environmental objectives and ensure that the Contractor is meeting these.
- Be aware of any breaches of safety guidelines by the Contractor.
- Liaise with any Council or Statutory personnel visiting the site.
