Overview/Key Role Purpose
Our client is seeking an effective, personable, positive, communicative and highly competent Leader and Manager who enjoys autonomy, has a can-do attitude, is comfortable being hands-on, and enjoys being a present and visible leader who thrives on running their business unit site effectively. This role reports to the National Operations Manager who values communication, transparency and accountability.
This individual has the pivotal responsibility ensuring the planning and scheduling of production and workflow while ensuring safety, quality, and optimum people support and performance can deliver excellence and consistency of output for the business unit.
The successful candidate will:
- Oversee daily operations, managing workloads, trouble-shooting and ensuring our state-of-the-art equipment runs with efficiency in a modern, clean site
- Utilise their strong team leadership and management experience to effectively manage, support, coach and develop a medium sized production team to drive and sustain productivity, quality, culture, safety and manage change for sustained high performance, achieving/exceeding KPI’s
- Utilise their and stakeholder engagement and liaison skills and experience with diverse people at all levels to:
- Work cohesively and effectively with other businesses in the Group and other business units including Quality, Warehousing, Maintenance to develop and implement strategies to meet common goals across the Group
- Balance competing needs and meet on time delivery requirement for both internal businesses in the Group as well as our external customers including our licensee network – always ensuring service excellence for each stakeholder, as well as support the meeting of financial and budgetary objectives
- Utilise their proven experience in implementing continuous improvement and effectively change management (and ideally LEAN manufacturing) to drive profitability and performance
- Utilise their capability to prepare and maintain budget and cost estimates, driving and monitoring key performance measures focusing on yield analysis, labour costs, with Finance team’s support
- Utilise their cross-transferable skills, experience and capability (perhaps attained within the FMCG industry or Powder-Coating industries) to undertake Projects ranging from smaller Continuous Improvement Projects, through to more extensive and long-lead-time Projects, as arise in our growing business
