About the role
There are two (2) permanent, full-time positions working 38 hours per week (7.00am to 4pm) and both are based at Council’s Woollamia Works Depot.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Maintenance Basin, the focus of this position is to:
- Undertake manual tasks using hand tools, including the operation of small plant items, for the minor construction and/or maintenance of assets as directed.
- Assist in Council responses to emergencies and other operational needs, including being available for ‘call back’.
- Projects and asset types may include, but is not limited to, roads and road related infrastructure, drainage, kerb & gutter, bus shelters, footpaths / cycleways / walking tracks, parking areas, traffic facilities, bridges, boat ramps, fences, recreational facilities, seawalls, viewing platforms, parks & reserves and flood mitigation assets, etc.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will possess: - School Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum of 12 months’ work experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
- Minimum NSW Class C Driver’s Licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
- Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
