Form of workGlenspean Partners is a family-owned business, located 11 km West of Meredith, between Geelong and Ballarat. The main business is goat dairying, but young male goats, and surplus adults are produced. With animal welfare at the core of operations, the goats are to be processed through a purpose-built abattoir, located on the farm. We require an experienced staff member who can process the goats. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being part of the innovative team that will develop this new venture.
This is a full-time or part-time position, with opportunity to vary the hours of work to suit the applicant. As this is a smaller operation, staff are exposed to all stages of the process.
Duties include:
Understanding of animal handling and welfare
Stun and kill.
Prepare carcasses for human consumption.
Identify defects or potential food safety risks.
Cleaning of plant and equipment
Machinery operation
Equipment monitoring and maintenance.
Record management.

Be willing to work on process improvement and development as the business grows.
Candidates who have prior experience with, or formal qualifications in Meat Inspection will be highly regarded, however this is not essential.
