ABOUT THE ROLE:
With the recent local and world markets shift toward zero emission vehicles and benefitting from Volgren’s strong focus on the design and development of innovative new bus solutions, we are looking to increase our workforce at this exciting time with talented individuals contributing to the overall success of our company.

We are looking to fill a Skilled Trade Assistant role within our Malaga, WA facility. In this hands-on position, reporting to the Section Leader, you will have a strong drive and motivation to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment.
Positions enjoy working a 9-day fortnight. This will be a permanent full-time opportunity and paid as per our Enterprise Agreement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Support tradespeople, contractors and operators with general labouring assistance, by operating hand and power tools and by cleaning and preparing worksite.
- Ensuring the worksite and associated equipment is clean, safe, tidy and ready for use.
- Undertaking and completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision and in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Fitting components onto vehicles
- Assisting technicians with tasks in the workshop
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and tidiness ensuring workshop areas are kept in order
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous exposure and experience in a vehicle manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
- Applicants with previous experience in Chassis/Construction and or Fabrication, would highly be advantageous
- Fabrication experience preferred
- Must be punctual, reliable and available for work Monday to Friday
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A great attitude to work and helping others.
- MUST be able to read drawings and use hand tools
This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
