Slaughter Floor Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Slaughter Floor Supervisor at Linley Valley Pork reporting into the Senior Slaughter Floor Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for the control, oversight and resolution of the Slaughter Floor and Offal Room located at our Wooroloo abattoir ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Be a role model, hands on leader of the departmental team
• Show behaviours that are consistent with the companies Code of Conduct
• Ensure compliance with Animal Welfare Policies
• Optimise production performance & processes on the lines to ensure that they are in accordance with the production plan
• Implement corrective action where processes do not conform to standards or limits prescribed in company's Approved Arrangement
• Understand and implement/enforce the requirements for each of the SOP's & Work Instructions that are relevant to this department
• Liaise with company AAO Inspection, QA personnel and on site Veterinary officer
• Develop the technical capability of team members and ensure the delivery of best practice operational standards
• Providing daily and weekly reports to the Operational and Functional managers
• Understanding and ensuring staff compliance with all policies, procedures, and practices
• Working with other team members and other departments to constantly seek and implement efficiency improvements and best practice initiatives

Your essential skills and experience:

• Qualifications in meat processing (abattoir) 
• Sound technical knowledge of meat processing preferably pork
• Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Intermediate computer literacy
• Excellent verbal & written communication
• Strong people management
• Demonstrated ability to lead & mentor your team to consistently meet production targets
• Strong work ethic with the capability to multitask
• Training & Assessment (TAE) Certification 
• Demonstrated commitment to improve & manage WH&S, quality, and environmental aspects
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
• HACCP Training
