What You Will Be Doing
The Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit (PAPU) is a mental health short stay Assessment and Planning Unit for the provision of accelerated access to specialist Psychiatric Assessment to minimise the need for an acute inpatient stay by ensuring that clients can be adequately and appropriately supported in the community.
The Grade 2Social Worker is required to provide quality care to consumers through competent clinical skills, effective communication, and active participation within a multidisciplinary team environment. In the role you will conduct comprehensive assessments, discharge planning and counselling while providing a high standard of quality care.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Relevant professional experience demonstrating capacity for autonomous mental health social work practice
• Clinical understanding of the treatment for mental illness provided in in-patient and community settings and working knowledge of community support services
• Member or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
• Excellent skills in comprehensive assessments, discharge planning and counselling
