We are seeking passionate, committed and enthusiastic, Occupational Therapist who has the confidence and ability to make autonomous decisions and work collectively within the Multidisciplinary team. As an occupational Therapist within ESMHS you will be responsible for working with MDT in order to provide innovative, compassionate and recovery focused care. You will have the opportunity to work with a varied client group and in a role that is autonomous with support from the leadership team

To provide Social Work Services with high levels of clinical expertise and specialised knowledge to clients of the Eastern Suburbs Inpatient Mental Health Service, their families and carers; to provide leadership for social work services; to participate in the planning and coordination of services for people with Mental Health problems; and to liaise with other services to develop partnerships of care.
If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Selection Criteria: * Hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

  • Demonstrated excellent high level skills and experience in working as a Social Worker.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with clients to enhance service delivery.
  • Ability to provide social work leadership in a multidisciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement.
  • Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation and recovery focus.
  • Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
