More information is available at www.stryker.com.The RoleThe Staff Software Engineer is responsible for a wide variety of investigative research and pilot technology development, advancing Stryker capabilities and supporting the long-term strategy of the R&D Lab. The Staff Software Engineer provides technical Software Development skills, UI/UX, innovative thinking, and collaborative support, while engaging with Stryker divisions and University partners to deliver new technologies and platforms.Please note that this role is a 2-year Fulltime Contract.What you will do
- Work under minimal supervision and support the design, development, modification, evaluation of software applications to support R&D project objectives.
- Translate user needs to design inputs, specifications, product concepts and complex/system level design with some guidance.
- Work closely with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance and project and product management to develop software that meets customer, system and quality requirements.
- Implement concepts and develop functional UIUX prototypes, incorporating feedback from clinicians, academics, and stakeholders to continuously improve the software interfaces.
- Support University partners with technical work, providing insight and expertise on Stryker systems.
- Produce quality code in alignment with Stryker coding guidelines and contribute to documentation in alignment with Stryker SDLC
- Assist with raw data extraction, interpretation and data engineering from Stryker equipment and assets on an as-needed basis.
- Presentation of work to internal stakeholders including R&D Lab members and external R&D partners including healthcare staff and technical personnel.
