Software Engineer - Mobile Apps & AI Innovation

Role Summary:  We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer with robust mobile app development skills and a proven track record in mentoring junior developers. The role combines technical expertise, strategic thought, and strong business insight to foster innovation and guidance within our development teams. The successful candidate will effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and actively engage in strategic business planning.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Lead the full lifecycle of mobile application and system development, from initial design through implementation, testing, and support. This role involves assessing and addressing system requirements, identifying limitations, and ensuring robust, secure applications.
• Mentor and direct a team of developers, instilling best practices in coding and software design. Focus on debugging, diagnosing, and resolving issues, ensuring the software performs to high quality and specification.
• Champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies, prioritising security and data integrity. Develop tools and strategies for software management and enhancement.
• Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting quality expectations. Automate software testing and deployment processes, and utilise operational performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:  

• Minimum of three years' experience as a full stack developer with demonstrated leadership in managing development teams. Experience in system analysis, evaluation, and enhancement is preferred.
• Expertise in AI technologies and their practical applications. This includes the ability to incorporate and train custom AI models, as well as deploy AI-driven tools such as intelligent assistants. Experience in applying machine learning techniques and deep learning frameworks to solve real-world problems is highly valued.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks such as Python, JavaScript, React, Node.js, with significant experience in MySQL and NoSQL databases. Maintain code integrity and documentation.
• Proven ability to lead development teams and provide strategic advice in software design and system optimisation. Includes evaluating software solutions and making informed recommendations for software acquisitions and upgrades.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
