We provide critical messaging and alerting platforms for customers primarily in healthcare, emergency services, and resources. We’re looking for a driven, mid-career Software Team Leader to join our product development team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative communications software products that are critical to our customers’ operations. You will manage a dynamic team of software and test engineers, guiding them through the complexities of the software development lifecycle while fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Working in a growing business, you’ll have the freedom to help forge the way we do our work, influencing the processes and tools used. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on leadership style, staying close to the technology and contributing to software architecture and design.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of software and test engineers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software.
- A hands-on approach to the software development process, contributing design, code, reviews or testing as needed.
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define product development scope and contribute to the company’s technology roadmap.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices in coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Identify and address technical and resource issues that may impact project timelines or outcomes.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging the team to explore new technologies and approaches to problem-solving.
- Working with our clients’ technical personnel to design and implement deployments.
- Foster a culture of open communication, mutual respect, and personal accountability within the team.
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, ideally with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise in software development methodologies including waterfall and agile and supporting tools such as continuous integration/deployment.
- Proficiency in modern development practices and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- We deploy our products to both cloud and on-premises infrastructure, knowledge of both and a good understanding of network concepts will be well regarded.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Appreciation of cybersecurity principles and best practice.
