We are looking for a Solicitor Advocate to join us, based at our Melbourne office.
🏛️ About Us: At Emma Turnbull Lawyers, we handle a large volume of summary and indictable crime matters, servicing our clients all around Victoria. Our fast-paced environment may be busy and at times chaotic, but it's the perfect setting for individuals who thrive under pressure and love challenges. Our lawyers each handle a mixture of private and VLA funded matters spread between the summary and committal streams as well as County and Supreme Court trials. The opportunities for exposure to all manner of criminal law cases is unlimited.
🎯 The Role: As a Solicitor Advocate, you will represent our clients in court, negotiating on their behalf and assisting our custody clients in their general care and wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging cases and collaborate with a diverse group of legal minds, be in an environment that supports your professional growth and personal fulfillment.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
* Represent clients in court proceedings, including all pre-hearing preparation and negotiation working with the supervision and support of our leadership team.
* Conduct legal research and undertake training to support your advocacy.
* Collaborate with our team to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
*Maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking new business opportunities.
*Stay updated with the latest legal developments and continuously improve your expertise.
*Be committed to your professional and personal growth and development.
💼 Desired Skills and Qualifications:
*The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice and have demonstrable advocacy experience. New lawyers are however welcome to apply and we are open to hiring an exceptional junior advocate or soon to be admitted lawyer.
*Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity and maturity.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
*Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
*Passionate about justice and dedicated to upholding the rule of law.
