Solution Architects (Nv1)

Rubix is currently acting on behalf of a leading defence consultancy who have multiple opportunities for experienced NV1 Cleared Solution Architects.

The Solution Architect will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

• Implementation and transition to support of Wintel/LINUX components
• Produce solution designs and associated functional specifications
• Assist in the development and implementation of migration plans
• Scope and design the overarching solution design in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers and Enterprise Architects
• Participate in product selection and conduct solution architecture assessments
• Participate in workshops & design sessions and prepare documentation
• Adoption and application of architecture frameworks and service offerings
• Assisting clients in the definition and execution of key architectural processes
• High level designs and contribute to/review detailed designs
• Provide architectural guidance, technical management and oversight of the build resources, write high level designs and contribute to/review detailed designs
• Any other tasks reasonably requested by the program
• Ensure that delivery of the agreed solution method

Desirable Criteria: 

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in solution architecture or a related field
• Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design
• In-depth understanding of infrastructure and networking
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively prioritise work and deliverables to meet specified timeframes
• Deep understanding of the following technologies:
  • Networking
  • Virtualisation
  • Monitoring and Management
  • Security
  • Collaboration (i.e. Email and Chat)
  • Security
  • Storage Hardware and Software
  • Computer Hardware
• Have a thorough working knowledge of the transition processes to enable effective engagement with stakeholder support towers for the progression of transition activities
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field
• Excellent documentation skills
• Efficient communication skills
• Strong Written and verbal communication skills
