About the Role …

An opportunity exists for an experienced Sous Chef to join NorthRichmond's busy kitchen team. Reporting to the Head Chef andGeneral Manager, you will ensure a high quality service and foodevery time to our members and guests. You will have the ability towork efficiently and pro-actively and have the managerial expertiseto step up during the absence of the Head Chef to effectively leadthe team

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities willinvolve:

  • Effective day-to-day operations of the kitchen;
  • Managing a small team of Chefs, Cooks, Kitchen Stewards andApprentice Chefs;
  • Encompassing a friendly and supportive team environment;
  • Catering and planning for functions;
  • Food preparation, presentation and service;
  • Cooking a variety of dishes including grill & fryer work;
  • Stock management duties including stock takes and recordingwastage;
  • Menu planning and ordering stock;
  • Managing food health and safety;
  • Overseeing food produced and presented within the kitchenand;
  • Implementing and enforcing food health and safetylegislation.

About you …

As an experienced Sous Chef, you will havepassion to inspire and motivate the people around you, you will becommitted to customer service and the success of your team. Youwill need to be available 7 days a week including evenings,weekends, public holidays to work as required.

To be successful in this role you would need to possessthe following:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a busy kitchen in a Senior Chefrole;
  • Relevant trade qualifications including Certificate 3 inCommercial Cookery, First Aid Certificate and Food SafetySupervisor Certificate;
  • High customer service skills and have a strong commitment toyour trade, customers and team;
  • High attention to detail and have the ability to work underpressure;
  • Fantastic communication skills;
  • Intermediate computer skills and;
  • Ability to cope with a busy kitchen environment and strongproblem solving skills.
