About the role

This position will:

  • Provide technical/specialist advice and support to the Strategic Infrastructure Planning Team, in relation to Spatial Planning, spatial design and spatial systems.
  • Capture and maintain proposed asset information accurately and perform day to day asset information management tasks that support the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) development, and asset investment planning functions of the Section.
  • Participate in the asset management continuous improvement program by monitoring and analysing the asset information from various sources and assist strategic planning engineers with timely asset information for informed decision making.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Compliance Team to create and maintain enterprise spatial datasets including the Asset Capital Plan / Asset Infrastructure Plan (AIP).
  • Update the AIP with the LGIP project information and align the LGIP Schedule of Works (SOW) Model data with AIP database information

About you

Our ideal candidate will have Tertiary qualifications in Geographical Information Systems, Cartography, Surveying or Information Technology, or equivalent experience and a current 'C' class Drivers Licence.

Key requirements based on level include the following:

LGO 4 Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience and experience in a similar position.
  • Sound knowledge of spatial, analytical, modelling and visualisation skills, including 3D Modelling and Networks.
  • Sound knowledge of GIS applications (ESRI suite of products), Business Information Management Systems (e.g., Enterprise Asset Management and Property and Rating), GIS programming logic, and spatial technologies and peripherals such as AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of cartographic best practices for map creation and visualisation.
  • Experience identifying, analysing, and solving model problems and thinking creatively about data models.
  • Sound knowledge of spatial concepts and iterative development across a diverse enterprise environment.

LGO 5 Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience or experience in a similar position with proficient knowledge of the items required for LGO4.
