About the role

A new position has arisen at Goulburn Valley Health (GVH) for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Clinical Haematologist Consultant to join our friendly team to provide an excellent, evidence based and patient centred care service within Greater Shepparton and the surrounding areas.

The 1.0 EFT position will be working onsite at GV Health, offering haematology services for both inpatients and ambulatory care patients, including onsite clinics with access to acute medical ward and ICU support. The GV Health haematology service has access to tumour stream MDM in partnership with metropolitan service and have the opportunity to expand our local clinical trials unit.

Goulburn Valley Health is a Regional Public Health Service in the Hume Region of Victoria, with campuses located at Shepparton, Tatura and Rushworth. The Oncology/Haematology service is located in the Shepparton campus at the Peter Copulos Cancer and Wellness Centre. Pathology service is partnered with Melbourne’s Austin Hospital, while medical Imaging service are providing a 24/7 onsite service.

Selection Criteria
Essential : Commitment to the GV Health Values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork and Ethical Behaviour and ability to exhibit behaviour which reflects our values.
Essential : Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist Clinical Haematologist
Essential : Excellent clinical skills
Essential : FRACP or equivalent by examination in Clinical Haematology
Essential : Trained in Good Clinical Practice and other aspects of clinical trial conduct
Essential : Effective communication skills and the ability to engage successfully with patients, relatives and colleagues
Essential : Evidence of contribution to teaching, education and clinical research activities
Essential : A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check, Victorian 'Employee' Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration will be required from prospective candidates prior to commencement of employment.
