Specialist Employment Mentor

About the RoleThe role of the Specialist Employment Mentor will focus on supporting Ex-Offender or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers by providing intensive mentoring to ensure their transition into employment is successful and sustained.You’ll also experience the work/life balance that comes with working a 9-day fortnight, with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week. You will still receive the remuneration of a full-time employee in addition to the ability to salary sacrifice. • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to type (minimum 30 words per minute);
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients, employers and staff;
• High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to represent Workskil Australia to our customers, funding bodies ,employers, RTOs, Indigenous Communities and other stakeholders;
• Sound knowledge of the local labour market;
• An understanding of case management framework;
• Sales and customer service experience;
• Extensive working knowledge of federally funded Employment Programs and funding models;
• Experience mentoring Indigenous customers in employment;
• Experience in working with ex-offenders in an employment or rehabilitation setting;
• Proven ability to work in an outcome based, high pressure environment, positively and with enthusiasm;
• Have a minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development; and
• Hold a current driver's licence and have own vehicle with the willingness to travel across the region.
