  • Execute Global Mobility activities for executive employees, as well as non-executive employees where required, assigned to or within the region, ensuring the delivery of activities for employees is timely and customer-focused whilst maintaining operational discipline.
  • Act as a day to day contact for and provide specialist technical subject matter expertise in Global Mobility for the business and local HR in the region, including country specific immigration and relocation activities, and external legal, regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Lead the overall execution of Global Mobility tax related activities within APAC / EMEA, including but not limited to, payroll wage type matrices, non-cash benefit reporting, year end payroll and reporting activities, IA split bonus activities, and operation of BHP's tax equalisation program.
  • Review and implement continuous improvement initiatives of GM processes, tools, templates, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements in the region (particularly in respect to tax). Proactively seek opportunities to simplify, remove duplication and minimise hand-offs to enhance standardisation, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Coach and support Global Mobility specialists (and IA payroll team where required) in respect to country specific tax or payroll related activities, ensuring delivery is compliant, timely and employee experience-focused whilst maintaining operational discipline.
  • Support the wider Global Mobility team with resolving complex tax related queries and tax compliance issues such as, but not limited to, application of DTAs.
  • Provide guidance to the Business and HR to manage compliance requirements with respect to Short Term Business Travellers and International Remote Working in the Region.
  • Support Manager Global Mobility with managing external tax vendor relationship to ensure high quality service delivery and prompt resolution of issues
  • Support the Reward team with Global Mobility policy reviews as required, providing insight into the delivery of the GM Program and opportunities to enhance the BHP policies.
  • Identify risks and provide input into mitigations and action planning. Ensure Risk Management protocols are incorporated into operational activities
About You
  • Degree or equivalent education required and/or international reward roles
  • Deep international tax experience e.g. professional services or Global Mobility/Equity/Reward in-house specialist roles
  • Experience with the management and understanding of Global Mobility programs and policies
  • Excellent understanding of reporting requirements and governance issues as they relate to tax and immigration and understanding of global jurisdictional differences, legislation and regulations
  • Extensive technical experience in Global Mobility concepts, methodologies and approaches as well as strong people management (directly or indirectly) in a global company.
  • Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Good understanding of international HR and payroll processes, reporting and data management.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel Project management skills an advantage. Experience in SAP and AssignmentPro (or equivalent) preferred
