The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Hospitals South - Care@Home Program is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Specialist Medical Practitioner - General PractitionerWork as a medical specialist within a multi-disciplinary team to provide virtual care at home for patients in the community enrolled in Care@Home with acute respiratory illnesses and/or other conditions suitable for care at home. Clinical care involves triage, assessment, implementation of patient management plans and ongoing monitoring.Work with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists and allied health to deliver care to patients across Tasmania.Medical staff work shifts between 0900 - 2100 7 days a week. We are currently recruiting for evening and weekend shifts. - Provide virtual consultation and patient review as clinically appropriate.
- Effectively triage and coordinate individuals' clinical needs, liaise with the patient's normal care team and escalate and refer care as necessary.
- Ensure that clinical records and documentation is timely, accurate and comprehensive and ensure good communication regarding patient care with other health practitioners.
- Participate in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols, and in peer review and audit activities; and participate in activities to review existing practices and promoting change where required.

- Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
- Allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $27,535 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 pro rata per annum.
- Relocation allowance.
- On call allowance % of Base Salary.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
