About the role
This position is responsible for providing high level paediatric speech pathology assessment and therapy through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the areas of speech, language, fluency, paediatric feeding, voice, and phonological awareness for children aged 0-12 years.
- Provide patient centered care and clinical advice to children/young people, carers and families, and other health care professionals to ensure delivery of innovative clinical practice models and therapeutic interventions.
- Support and provide education to patients and carers regarding communication / swallowing disorders.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as required, in collaboration with the organisation to enhance service delivery.
- Work autonomously and demonstrate independent clinical reasoning to manage a complex and varied caseload.
This position is 14 hours per week with additional benefits including flexible work opportunities and salary packaging options.
About you
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Advanced clinical reasoning and ability to apply professional judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks
- Experience in providing paediatric assessment and intervention across a range of communication disorders and settings.
- Previous experience and ability to work effectively with clients and families with diverse psychosocial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- High level verbal and written communication skills, with a high degree of computer literacy.
