For many sports, a perfectly maintained green is crucial. You can play a significant role in the sporting industry with a specialised career that lets you enjoy the outdoors by learning how to manage and care for grass surfaces.
The successful candidate will work full time for 4 years while completing their Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. You'll learn from experts in the field how to identify plants, build a landscape, set up and operate irrigation systems, control pests and diseases, treat water, use chemicals, and more.
.Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain golf course rough, fairways and greens
- Maintain sports fields
- Mowing and pruning tees in the community
- Repair damage, restore the field, regulate pest control, and create a safe space for athletes to play
- Spraying chemicals and fertilisers
- Involved in capital project improvements
- Renovating turf surfaces
About you:
- A team worker with great communication skills
- Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and follow instruction
- Wiling to undertake a Police Check and WWCC
- Safety conscious
- Driver's preferred
- Career focused & ability to commit to your apprenticeship
