Our client is a 4th generation family business with over 35 years of continuous farm ownership with a current expansion program. Now managing 10,000 acres, our client has substantial interests in horticulture, broad-acre and livestock operations. As the business has expanded our client has created “a village” to accommodate their growing workforce and have chosen to proactively retain staff by offering attractive remuneration packages that include various accommodation options, flexibility around family commitments, proactively providing upskilling and additional training to their staff. Due to recent expansion, our client is now in need of a Spray Rig Operator to join their core workforce operating their John Deere – R4060, 4930 & brand spanking new 616R sprayers.

- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, in particular when working through the night;

- Flexibility and adaptability to remain positive when priorities change.
Additionally, in order to be considered for this role, you should demonstrate the following:
- You’re comfortable with responsibility knowing errors can influence the success of the whole season;
- You have previous experience driving and operating farm machines including sprayers, tractors, trucks and harvesters;
- It’s a plus if you have had previous experience spraying and fertiliser spreading;
- You’re willing and capable of using farm online platforms for scheduling of work and record keeping, such as Agworld;
- You have experience handling chemical and have meticulous record keeping skills;
- You have previous exposure to machinery systems including GPS Software; and
- You have HC/MC license, forklift license, telehandler license and first aid certificate (an advantage but not essential).

Our client has asked us to ensure that you are aware of the following:
- You will report directly to the Cropping Manager
- Your day will be spent working with chemical batching, spray logistics and executing work orders.
- Depending on your experience you may be responsible for training junior employees to ensure you have appropriate back up across the week.
- You will often work unsupervised and alone which will require high levels of self-motivation
- Due to the requirement to spray to optimum weather conditions, you will work across varied hours including early starts, nights and weekends
- All team members undertake general farm work and operator duties which may include tractor driving, seeding and harvest operations and general livestock duties.
