The Company
My client is a mid tier SA based commercial construction company who has a strong people-focused company culture. They are known for successfully delivering multi-million dollar commercial, residential and industrial across South Australia. They are family owned business operating for nearly 50 years & delivering exceptional service thanks to their exceptional company culture and work ethics.
The Role
The SQE Advisor provides advice, training, consultation, monitoring and governance, to support stakeholders and ensure all relevant SQE legislation, supporting and contributing to the continuous improvement and implementation of safety, quality and environment system strategies.
Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and managing audit programme's
  • Provide administrative and technical support
  • Conduct or assist with hazard identification, risk analysis and assessments, to prioritise risk for management attention
  • Conduct or assist with incident investigation, make recommendations and produce reports to improve safety.
  • Assist to in coordinating, managing and participate in audit programs required
  • Analyse reported SQE data and assist in monthly reporting requirements, providing advice to line management.
  • Assist with inspections and corrective actions and product reports in line with requirements.
  • Ensure that projects and works are fully compliant with drawings and specification and address discrepancies immediately, escalate to Operations Manager when necessary;
  • Ensure a high quality of workmanship is maintained in all aspects of the projects.
The Candidate
The successful applicant will require:
  • At least 5 years working experience in Work Health and Safety and a demonstrable record of delivering improvement. Sound understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability to understand, apply and communicate complex work health and safety processes and requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant SQE Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • Planning and organising skills
  • High level of oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment without close supervision and contribute to team success
  • Highly proficient in the use of technology; Microsoft suite of products
