About the Roles
MDS Mine is located 45km southeast of the Central Queensland town of Springsure and is a successful 1.5 million tonne per annum Open Cut Truck and Shovel operation. The main coal seam is between 11 and 108 meters deep with an average thickness of 6.9 meters. Coal is processed onsite and trucked to the train load-out facility off-site.
As the Senior Site Executive (SSE) of the Meteor Downs South Mine, you will be responsible for all mining operations/activities carried out safely and efficiently and the statutory responsibility for the mine’s performance, whilst ensuring compliance with current Queensland legislation.
The SSE oversees all mining and maintenance activities to ensure production targets are met, equipment usage is optimised, and to identify opportunities to increase production or reduce costs as part of continual improvement. The role will also work with departments to ensure there is the required skills within current teams to drive success now and into the future.
The successful candidates will have the following:
- QLD Site Senior Executive Certificate of Competency for Open Cut Coal Mine.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Proven operational management experience.
