A final 6th year internship is available for a Provisional Psychologist.
As a Provisional Psychologist with Student Support Services you will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to access their education.
You will provide a range of psychological assessments and supports to school-aged students to improve student learning. You will have highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise effectively with a range of people in the education community and beyond.
The purpose of Student Support Services is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and network levels.
Student Support Services comprise a broad range of professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers. Student Support Services staff work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within networks of schools, focusing on providing group-based and individual support, workforce capability building, and the provision of specialised services.
Student Support Services (SSS) do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing - particularly our most vulnerable students - and SSS are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.
This position will be based in the Bayside Peninsula Area and will be based at the Frankston office.
Regular Supervision and peer support will be provided however the suitable applicant will be required to obtain their own external supervisor at their own cost. The external supervisor will be responsible for all correspondence and documentation with AHPRA for full registration. This is a full-time position (although negoatiable) that requires completion of registration with AHPRA within 2 years to remain ongoing.
