Job description

Western Leisure Services, trading as WynActive, is dedicated to enabling a healthy and active community through the provision of premier recreation, fitness and aquatic services.

We are seeking a motivated and committed Stadium and Community Participation Manager to contribute to strategic business development, a strong organisation culture and foster collaboration and cooperation throughout the business.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations, this role will be pivotal in implementing access and inclusion initiatives, driving community consultation and outreach, taking ownership of select community and business partnerships and ensuring effective stadium operations.

Job Description

The Stadium and Community Participation Manager will lead and support their team to deliver accessible, high-quality programs and services, while balancing community and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership aligned with WLS purpose, mission, and values.
  • Foster strong communication, team engagement, motivation, and behaviour’s that support a robust staff culture.
  • Implement training and development opportunities for staff, monitoring their performance against key measures through annual performance and development planning.
  • Lead recruitment efforts and ensure the development of highly proficient staff members.
  • Cultivate a commitment to personal service excellence among team members.
Desired Skills and Experience

Stadium Operations and Customer Experience:

  • Lead the development and continual improvement of stadium operations.
  • Ensure effective Standard Operating Procedures support consistent, customer-centric, systems-driven operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day stadium operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high service standards.
  • Investigate and address customer complaints promptly to maintain satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage the execution of annual department or business unit operational plans aligned with WLS objectives.
  • Manage the annual hire application process effectively and efficiently within set timeframes.
  • Supervise the application of facility and event hire processes, ensuring accurate completion of invoicing and aged debtor processes.
  • Foster rapport and professional relationships with licensees and diverse hirers to maximize stadium utilisation and ensure agreement adherence.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations management, community engagement, and leadership roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of stadium operations and event management best practices.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Current Working with Children Check – Employee (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
