In the role of Staff Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing counselling and other psychological support for officers of the service and their family members.
Overall, you will have a broad range of experience in psychological assessment and intervention. You will have a clear understanding of the provision of confidential counselling services to officers and their families both within Australia and overseas. You will also be responsible for assisting with the development and delivery of relevant training and educational workshops.
Applicants must be an unconditionally registered psychologist with at least five years’ experience. A Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling is preferable with eligibility for membership with the APS. Supervision to complete Clinical Psychology Endorsement can be offered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS- Provide Canberra based support and psychological care to staff and families of the service.
- Provide face-to-face and telephone counselling to staff and immediate family members.
- Provide counselling services in response to crisis situations.
- Promote the staff counselling service including the delivery of presentations and the development of appropriate educational materials.
- Maintain professional registrations and memberships through appropriate clinical supervision, professional development and conduct.
- Build and sustain internal and external relationships with key customers and stakeholders
- Maintain appropriate professional and organisational records.
- Develop and maintain psychology, health and wellbeing policies in support of ASIS’s functions.
