Form of work Reporting to the Hastings Macleay Clinical Director of Medicine, the Staff Specialist will provide contemporary, comprehensive specialist services, assist in the education role of Kempsey District Hospital and provide clinical care to patients within the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network.
Kempsey District Hospital is a 81 bed, level three facility with a level four 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services including, high dependency, General Medicine, surgical day procedures, drug and alcohol, mental health, renal dialysis, rehabilitation, obstetrics and a maternity unit that births approximately 250 per annum. Additional services include physiotherapy, dietetics, social work, occupational therapy and Aboriginal health. Diagnostic services include onsite pathology, CT scans, ultrasound and general x-ray.
Kempsey, situated between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, on the Macleay Valley River is surrounded by national parks and just a short drive from the pristine beaches of the Macleay Valley Coast. With a population of around 28000, there a several public and private schools, sporting and recreation facilities and shopping precincts.
