John Hunter Children’s Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Staff Specialist in Paediatric Cardiology. The position is within John Hunter Children’s Hospital with the expectation that inpatient and outpatient services are provided. The position will professionally report to the Director of Cardiology with John Hunter Hospital.
About the role:
- Provide clinical management and treatment for paediatric patients presenting or referred with potential cardiac disease.
- Organise and interpret appropriate investigations to confirm or exclude cardiac diagnoses and medically manage conditions such as congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease including endocarditis and hypertension.
- Initial management of arrhythmias and pericardial disease, basic adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension and prevention of heart disease.
About you:
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatric Cardiology, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Cardiology.
