State Manager | Cospak WA

San Miguel Yamamura Australasia (SMYA) is an established leader in packaging and contract wine filling in Australia and New Zealand.  We started as Cospak Pty Ltd over 40 years ago and today the company is a joint venture between two packaging leaders, San Miguel Corporation of the Philippines and Nihon Yamamura Glass of Japan.  SMYA is headquartered in Sydney and is present in all the major states across Australia and in Auckland, New Zealand.

Part of the Group, Cospak Australia aims to provide organisations with a variety of total packaging solutions within the Australian, New Zealand and Asian markets.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced State Manager to lead our WA Team. 

Your new role:

Based in Welshpool and reporting to the General Manager Australia, this role is responsible for total branch performance across Sales, Customer Service and Warehouse Operations. Leading a fast-paced, dynamic Sales and Operational team, this role has responsibility for developing our people, delivering customer centricity, generating sales and achieving profitable growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Create and execute the branch strategic business plans. 
• Ensure profitability and manage and develop branch personnel. 
• Plan, implement, and manages areas of responsibility to facilitate continuous improvement and personal growth while supporting company goals, missions, and vision. 
• Provide sound leadership for the branch.
• Responsible for the strategic growth of Cospak in WA across all market segments.
• Talent development – responsible for the development and training of the sales, customer service and operations team
• Pride yourself and the team in setting customer service excellence standards & expectations.
• Cultivate effective business relationships with decision-makers in current and new accounts
• Lead from the front by providing the sales team with hands-on support to achieve their budgets
• Implementation of improvements within the branch
• Reporting and presenting on Branch people and performance

Your experience and skills:

• Tertiary qualifications in Sales/Marketing or related field Ideal.
• Previous experience within the packaging industry would be Ideal.
• Strong people management and leadership experience including employee engagement, training and development, mentoring and coaching.
• Well-honed leadership skills
• Supply Chain knowledge essential
• Credible and highly effective at negotiating and influencing at all levels, both internally and externally – especially B2B
• Experience with SAP highly regarded - training provided
• Demonstrated knowledge of market research, product and industry knowledge.
• Open and inclusive communication style
• Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• A current driver’s license
