About us

Rich Glen is a family-owned Olive Enterprise in Victoria. They harvest olives from 36,000 trees and operate a modern processing facility. They produce 200,000+ litres of extra virgin olive oil (evoo), offer 85 food products, and an innovative range of over 90 skincare items. Rich Glen manages the entire supply chain, from sourcing regional ingredients to manufacturing, distribution, and retailing of its products. 
They have three incredibly unique retail outlets in Yarrawonga and Echuca and strive to open their 4th in 2024.

Qualifications & experience

  • Previous experience in a managerial role within the food and/or skin care retail industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively coach, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and P&L management. Proven ability to achieve sales, wages, KPI & stock loss targets.
  • Familiarity with labour scheduling software and retail management systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing employee relations and food safety.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Support Ongoing Learning and Development: Consistently and equitably support the learning and development of all store crew members by providing direct feedback, coaching, mentoring, and career path guidance. Proactively address performance concerns and encourage personal growth within the team.
  • Career Path Guidance: Engage in career discussions with team members to reinforce their understanding of how working at the retail shop will contribute to their career and personal growth. Assist in setting health, career, and personal goals to foster continuous improvement and job satisfaction.
  • Roster Management: Plan and prepare team rosters based on labour requirements, availability, and budget considerations. Utilise rostering platforms like Deputy and implement on-call shifts as necessary to optimise workforce efficiency.
  • Employee Relations: Take responsibility for employee relations issues, including identifying and resolving conflicts, addressing performance, and knowing when to work with HR to take appropriate action. Foster a positive work environment and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Profit and Loss Management: Manage the store's profit and loss (P&L) in alignment with goals, including sales targets, budget control, and cost management. Analyze financial reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to maximise profitability.
  • Strategic Planning: Partake in high-level quarterly and annual planning for the store, developing strategies to achieve sales targets, optimise budget allocation, and address labour needs. Participate in recruiting and oversee training and development initiatives to build a skilled, motivated team.
  • Floor Operations: Plan floor coverage and make informed decisions to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of floor operations. Ensure the availability of necessary resources, monitor customer service standards, and promptly resolve any operational issues or customer complaints.
  • Safety and Compliance: Understand and adhere to people's safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers. Ensure compliance with applicable operating principles, laws, and regulations, including health and safety regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Budget Accountability: Take ownership of the controllable budget, including labour hours, inventory management, and operational expenses. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement effective measures to achieve financial targets.
