AddressLocated one hour from Cairns on the Atherton Tablelands, TGT is a locally owned retail business, specialising in the supply of general hardware, irrigation, plumbing, agricultural chemicals, fertiliser, and rural merchandise to the agricultural, rural and building industries in Far North Queensland.
We are currently seeking applications for an experienced Store Person/ Fork Lift Operator who possesses a significant knowledge of the handling of agricultural chemicals, fertilisers and pesticides to add to the team in our expansive branch based in Tolga.
This is a full time hours position, operating Monday – Friday. Previous experience in a busy industrial store orientated role, where you will have developed your knowledge of chemical and agricultural products is essential.
Duties include:
- Picking and packing of various orders including rural items, hardware, building products, agri-chemicals and high risk goods;
- The safe loading and unloading of trucks containing chemicals and heavy items; Manual handling;
- Receiving and dispatching of goods, including completion of all appropriate transit paperwork for stock;
- Delivery of first class knowledgeable customer service;
- Ensure safe storage of stock and maintain a clean yard/warehouse and plant & equipment;
- Assisting with stock and inventory management; and help with the safe transportation of goods as required
The successful candidate will possess:
- Previous experience and knowledge of, agri-chemical fertiliser product knowledge, hardware experience plus a demonstrated ability to build excellent rapport with customers, suppliers and staff members;
- An excellent understanding of a retail hardware/yard store operation;
- Solid time management and attention to detail;
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience with Point of Sale system, cash handling & eftpos facilities; and the ability to interpret and follow policy and procedure.
Holding a current valid forklift licence is essential, and a HR licence is desirable. Previous experience in the agricultural industry would be well regarded.
