The opportunity:
The Maintenance Storeman is responsible for the coordination and management of the stores, purchasing and receiving functions for the Moorebank maintenance department.
This is a diverse role reporting to the Maintenance Manager you have you assist in the preparation of financial, maintenance and management reporting as well as internal control of business systems. You will take ownership of the organisation, optimisation and maintenance of the stores inventory, systems and coordination with the maintenance team on a daily basis obtaining optimal prices from preferred GF suppliers and continually challenging the status quo in order to ensure value adding for every purchase.
Key responsibilities:
Management of Purchasing
Ensure purchasing procedures are in accordance with Goodman Fielder company policy
Ensure purchasing - receiving process is efficient and cost effective
Supply Agreements
Research and understand maintenance purchasing requirements
Prepare formal agreement documentation where required
Monitor compliance to supply agreements and seek opportunities to improve compliance
Research and understand maintenance purchasing requirements to improve competitive position
Internal Control
Monitor the adequacy of factory systems and internal controls, and identification and implementation of system improvements
Ensure compliance to Goodman Fielder policy and procedures
Ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards
External Audit support as required, Internal Audits as required
Accounts Payable
Provide support to Accounts Payable function to resolve transaction issues and supplier payment issues
Process overseas payments
Ensure payments are accurate and timely Review issues and resolve
Financial maintenance
Ensure all accounts are reconciled and reviewed in accordance with
Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Ensure expenditure is classified correctly
GL reporting accuracy
Freight
Process and validate inwards cartage freight accounts
Freight cost analysis
Ensure payments are accurate and timely
Vendor Management
Seek opportunities to optimise the number of vendors we deal with on a regular basis
Monitor supplier performance and work with vendors to improve performance where necessary
Mediate between supplier and site in the event of disputes
Review factory requirements and supplier performance
Stores management
Fully integrate SAP maintenance system into stores
Manage stores inventory through utilization of electronic stores management system (SAP)
Optimise inventory levels and re-order levels and quantities.
Optimise stores management system and efficiency
Management of consignment and PMA stock
Utilise GF group agreements to further improve stock efficiencies and values
Maintain a critical stock inventory register and consolidate across Goodman Fielder sites
What you will Need:

Mechanical / Electrical aptitude
Forklift licence is essential
Inventory/stores control experience or related qualification
Experience using SAP Material Management system
