About The Role
Join our dynamic team at Select Plant Australia! We are currently looking for a meticulous and proactive Storeperson to manage our inventory, and support our workshop and site operations.
This role will be located at our modern Select Plant Australia - Maitland Depot on a permanent, full-time basis, under the support of a collaborative and inclusive team.
If successful, you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating the materials inventory & data input for the workshop, and liaising with suppliers and site personnel regarding deliveries, discrepancies, or lead times. This role encompasses maintaining stock accuracy, operating light access machinery, and ensuring compliance with company and industry safety standards. Whilst not essential, this role would best suit somebody who is mechanically minded and has experience or knowledge of the hire, logistics or civil construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the dispatch and receipt of materials, ensuring accurate stock maintenance.
- Use inventory management software to track and manage inventory and complete paperwork with precision.
- Inspect incoming goods for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with site personnel, plant and procurement team, regarding goods and materials requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of equipment, tools, and machinery relevant to the workshop.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the workshop.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing duties within assigned and lower groups, ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
- Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance operations.
About You
To be considered for the role, you'll need to hold the minimum requirements below:
Essential:
- Valid forklift ticket and operation proficiency.
- Australian Driver's Licence - Manual C Class
- Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White card)
- Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
- Proficiency in inventory management software, and intermediate to advanced computer competency.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, quality control and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in stores, materials coordination and stock maintenance within the construction or mechanical industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of the various equipment, machinery and tools within the construction industry.
Highly Regarded but not essential:
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with mobile plant
- Higher class of driver’s licence (HR, MR, MC)
- Additional plant or high-risk tickets (rigging, dogging, telehandler, crane)
- Certificates in Warehousing, Supply Chain and/or logistics
Successful candidates will be required to complete a national criminal history check and a pre-employment medical as part of the recruitment process.
