The Role
The Strategic Engagement and Communications Officer prime focus will be to support the Rail Planning Branch in stakeholder engagement during the planning and development of high value transport infrastructure projects and be responsible for the coordination of a range of stakeholder communication activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need great communication skills, with a particular strength in assessing the importance of information to stakeholders and presenting that information in a clear and compelling way.
This is a fixed term appointment up to 30 June 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency.
About You
You will be experienced in public relations, communications or stakeholder Engagement and possess expertise in delivering communications for projects with multiple stakeholders.
Using your well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills, you will have a track record in responding to government and industry stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Your strong writing skills (including the ability to write for and edit websites), combined with a good eye for design, will allow you to deliver consistent communications through a range of channels, and develop good rapport with stakeholders.
Your demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities will ensure you are able to support projects with accurate and timely recording of stakeholder interactions, preparation and facilitation of meetings, including development of presentations and minute-taking, and other stakeholder communications as required.
