Structural Designer Draftsperson

Our client is a leading international design consultant specialising in civil infrastructure, built environment, water, energy, heavy industrial and urban development sectors based in Melbourne. As a group, they put their people first by providing an opportunity to work on this country’s major projects and investing in their development.
Due to ongoing growth and securing multiple major civil infrastructure projects, we are seeking experienced structural drafters to join their team. Reporting to the discipline lead, you will be required to work across a continuous succession of projects as they progress through the project life cycle from early concept development, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
Ideally we are seeking:
- Extensive experience in design and documentation of reinforced / precast concrete and steel
- Extensive knowledge with Microstation and OpenBuildings.
- Exposure to local civil infrastructure or building projects - knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices.
- Exposure to the detail of civil structures including but not limited to: temporary works, retaining walls, gantries, noise walls and sound barriers along with ancillary works.
- Strong communicator who can effectively coordinate with the project team, client and other stakeholders.
- Ability to review and provide constructive feedback with preliminary drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment along with working autonomously.
- Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
