SalaryA market leading Building Insurance Contractor are looking for a experienced Building Consultant to join the team in Melbourne
The Building Consultant is responsible for inspecting and reporting on building related matters, undertaking and/or co-ordinating forensic investigations,
providing detailed scope of works and cost estimates, obtaining and reviewing tenders, and managing various projects.

The Role:
- Conduct field investigations involving all types of structures and construction problems including residential, commercial and industrial properties
- Determine of the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, construction defects and building system failures
- Prepare written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars and reviewing professional publications
The Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of the building industry
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- A thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel and clients both verbally and written
- Proven technical competency
