Form of workFTC Solar Australia is seeking a dynamic and innovative structural and foundation engineer to join
their fast-growing team in Australia. FTC Australia has a main office in Brisbane QLD and this role
ideally will integrate with the team in this location.
The role is to support the Sales Engineering function both pre-sales and post sales to provide
innovative and solutions-based design and support to the business. We foster an innovative and
solution culture and require the ideal candidate to lead this function of our business.
Our company works in a matrix organization so there are opportunities to support the greater
FTC Solar Inc business globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver innovative concept and development level proposals for structural and foundation design using in house design principles and tools based on specifications and drawings.
Collaborate with the intercompany international design teams.
Assist in the preparation of detailed specifications and budgets regards to structural and foundation quotations.
Develop specifications for type testing and foundation design and budgets accordingly.
Provide pre and post sales engineering support to the delivery teams.
Develop new methods and innovations to the standard suite of design.
Co-ordinate structural and civil engineering solutions for the portfolio of projects, including site activities, site labour and materials.
Obtain and review geotechnical results, soil, and rock samples from the site.
Design the foundation and structure of the FTC tracker considering the static and dynamic loads to ensure the designs meet the required loads.
QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary Qualifications in Structural/Civil Engineering (RPEQ an advantage)
Strong knowledge of CAD and structural calculation design.
Knowledge of solid works and/or civil 3D, L-Pile and RISA
3+ years of experience with structural calculation analysis, foundation design
3+ years of experience working on solar farm projects.
