About the Role
Are you passionate about creating an unforgettable Student Experience? As the Student Experience Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of designing and delivering outstanding Events and activities that ignite the spirit of the Faculty of Science community.

With your strong program planning and event management skills, you'll be the driving force behind unique experiences, collaborating with students and using innovative evaluation strategies to ensure we're always exceeding expectations.

You will act as a key liaison point for colleagues across the Faculty’s Student and Academic Services portfolio, School academic support officers, and central University teams to provide timely advice and support for enrichment programs and events for Science students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate the design, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of enrichment programs for undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Science.
  • Lead coordination and delivery of the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Agriculture, and graduate Science orientation programs, including Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Design and deliver Student Events aimed to facilitate engagement and belonging.
  • Provide input to improve Student Experience practices and processes, with a commitment to strategy, continuous improvement and best practice.

Who We Are Looking For
You will possess high-level organisational and problem-solving skills, adept at coordinating various tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently, while also demonstrating proactive planning and adaptability to unforeseen circumstances. Additionally, the ideal candidate should exhibit strong teamwork abilities and the initiative to lead projects, alongside a track record of autonomous work when necessary.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, and experience within an events management or program development role, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience, education and/or training.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing creative programs, coordination of large-scale Events and/or public engagement activities with experience in delivering Events and Programs on digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated project management experience inclusive of supplier negotiation, budget management, collaborating with a range of stakeholders.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

The Science Secretariat is the administrative unit for the Faculty of Science and all its teaching, research, and commercial activities. The Secretariat is responsible for the policy development, planning, implementation, and ongoing management of Faculty programs.
